The book Dilli Ki Imaraat Ke Katbon Ka Awwaleen Makhtoota: Nuskha-i-Hafeezuddin Ahmed or, the Earliest Manuscript on Epitaphs on Delhi’s Monuments: Hafeezuddin Ahmed’s Manuscript is the earliest effort to record the epigraphs on Delhi’s historical monuments. The etchings, epitaphs and engraving on Delhi’s shrines, gates and archaeological sites are carefully copied and finely reproduced in the book, are virtual treasure troves of rare information.

Ather Farouqui is an author, translator, political analyst and general secretary of Anjuman Tarraqui Urdu (Hind). He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2012 for translating the book Sons of Babur.

Swapna Liddle is a historian and the author of several books on Delhi. For many years, she has also been involved in raising awareness on the need to preserve historic sites and neighbourhoods.

Sadaf Fatima is the Assistant Editor of Urdu Adab, a 100-year-old journal of Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind). She has translated the last part of great Urdu poet Meer Taqi Meer's autobiography Zikr-i Meer.

Mahmood Farooqui is a writer, performer and director who specializes in story-telling known as Dastangoi. He is the author of Besieged: Voices from Delhi 1857 (2010).

Hilal Ahmed is Associate Professor at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi.
