Teaching Programme

The CSDS offers different formats of research training.

Researching the Contemporary (RTC) is a summer school programme for young researchers (ongoing MPhil and PhD) from India and abroad.

RTC runs for 6 to 8 weeks in July and August and offers inter-disciplinary course modules structured around critical questions of our contemporary.  RTC is run in the format of a colloquium, with assigned readings and discussion sessions.

Applications are invited from interested young scholars through a notification on the CSDS website around May/June every year.

SC/ST Students Capacity Building Workshop is a 2-week intensive course supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research and conducted by the CSDS faculty.

This is a dedicated training programme for students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds and is structured around questions of Research Method and Knowledge Politics, with special emphasis on the issue of how to ensure inclusion and diversity of intellectual voices in the fields of social sciences and humanities.

It is usually held in the month of March every year and applications are invited by an announcement on the CSDS website in January.
