After first discussing the topic of digital Hinduism the lecture will focus on the case study of contemporary Sāṃkhya-Yoga and digital media. The revival of Sāṃkhya-Yoga as a religious practice in modern India was caused by a technological change in the nineteenth century, book printing, which also lead to the revival of several other traditions and led to the foundation of a Sāṃkhya-Yoga monastic institution. Book printing was also to become an important means of communication of the Sāṃkhya-Yoga institution. With digital media, an additional way of communication became available. It will discuss some of the digital media communication of the Math and how this way of communication of the Math differs from printed media communication.
