Positions for Deputy Librarian, Administrative Officer & Word Processing Operator

The Centre for the study of Developing Societies (CSDS), a leading social science research institute based in Delhi, invites applications for the posts of Deputy Librarian, Administrative Officer, and Word Processing Operator. Relevant educational qualification, work experience and other eligibility criteria for the posts would be as follows:

1) Deputy Librarian

Essential Requirement:

•  Postgraduate degree in social sciences with Masters in Library Science from a recognized university.
•  Certified training in Library Software systems with proficiency in English and Hindi.
•  Proven ability in a supervisory capacity to conduct and perform all the tasks and functions of a social science library.
•  At least 5 years’ work experience as Assistant Librarian with proven capabilities.

Desirable Qualification:

•  M.Phil. Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation/ Archives and Manuscript keeping.
•  7 years’ work experience as Assistant/Deputy Librarian with evidence of professional commitment and computerization of library.

2) Administrative Officer

Essential Requirement:

•  Good academic record with a Master degree from a recognized university.
•  Knowledge of office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word).
•  Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Hindi.
•  At least 5 years’ experience in supervisory position with proven administrative capabilities.

Desirable Qualification:

•  Diploma or Certified course in Human Resource Management with proven knowledge of HR Rules and Regulations.
•  Having experience in office procedure like maintenance of files, noting, drafting and knowledge of academic/administrative matters.

3)  Word Processing Operator

Essential Requirement:

•  Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
•  Good knowledge of softwares like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word), Pagemaker etc.
•  Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in Hindi and English typing with proven ability to check documents for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors under tight deadlines.
•  At least 5 years’ experience as DTP operator.

Desirable Qualification:

•  Data Entry skills.

The Maximum age limit for all the posts is 40 years. The age limit may be relaxed for candidates with exceptional skills. Salary would be commensurate with qualifications and experience and as per central government pay scales.
