The Keywords Issue is a special double issue of the journal, Bioscope, devoted to exploring key concepts and debates in South Asian screen studies. Designed to celebrate Bioscope's second decade of publication, it features 45 essays by leading scholars in the field, along with a comprehensive bibliography. This celebratory launch of the Keywords Issue is an opportunity to discuss and engage the collection and the multifold future directions of screen and media studies, including their implications for the shaping of social science and humanities agenda.
Debashree Mukherjee teaches film studies at the Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies department, Columbia University and is Editor, Bioscope.
Lotte Hoek is a media anthropologist at the University of Edinburgh, and is Editor, Bioscope.
Brian Larkin teaches media anthropology at Barnard College, Columbia University.
May Adadol Ingawanij teaches film and media aesthetics at the University of Westminster School of Arts.
Christopher Pinney is a media and visual anthropologist at University College, London.
Ravi Vasudevan is Honorary Fellow, Centre for the Study of Developing Studies and Editor, Bioscope.
