Shailendra (1923-1966) was an extraordinary Hindustani poet, lyricist, writer and producer of Teesri Kasam starring Raj Kapoor and Waheeda Rahman. He was associated with Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA), and worked with all prominent music directors of his time.  

Amla Shailendra Mazumdar is the eldest daughter of lyricist Shailendra. 

Indrajeet Singh is an author and biographer of Shailendra.

Ravikant is Associate Professor at Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi.
