CSDS announces a workshop series on ‘Research Writing for Undergraduates’ to be held in-person from January 27-29, 2026. The workshop is aimed at final year undergraduate students interested in learning the nuances of research writing.
Description of the Series
With the increasing focus on undergraduate research and publishing, there is an urgent need for students to upscale to more advanced capacities in academic reading and writing.
The CSDS Writing Workshop Series 2026: Research Writing for Undergraduates addresses this gap by focusing on crucial aspects of academic writing, including identifying research gaps and formulating research questions, writing a review of literature, turning data into evidence, and the ethical and effective use of AI in academic writing. The workshop series will enable participants to strengthen their own research projects while developing a clearer understanding of how academic arguments are built, supported, and communicated.
Sessions will include interactive workshops, hands-on writing sessions, and peer-review sessions. Participants will be expected to bring their own ongoing research projects to the sessions and actively engage in writing, discussion, and revision throughout the series.
Certificates will be awarded on completion of all three days of the workshop.

Day 3 | January 29, 2026 | Writing Claims, Finding Evidence.
Workshop Details
When: January 27 - 29, 2026 | 2 - 5 p.m.
Where: In-person @ CSDS, Delhi.
Who: Final year undergraduate students enrolled in any social science or humanities program which requires them to write a dissertation.
25 seats available.
How: Apply here by January 20, 2026, 5 p.m.
Applicants need to provide a short (250 word) synopsis of their ongoing undergraduate dissertation. Participants will be selected on the basis of their synopsis. Selected participants will be informed post screening of applications.
