Patrick Olivelle is Professor Emeritus at University of Texas at Austin, USA. As a philologist and scholar of Sanskrit Literature, his work has focused on asceticism, renunciation and the dharma. His publications include: Yajñavalkya: A Treatise on Dharma; Hindu Law: A New History of Dharmasastra; Reader on Dharma: Classical Indian Law; King, Governance, and Law in Ancient India; Visnu's Code of Law; The Life of the Buddha; Manu's Code of Law; Upanisads; and Asrama System.

Rajeev Bhargava is the Director of Parekh Institute of Indian Thought, CSDS, Delhi. He works focuses on political theory, multiculturalism, identity politics and secularism His publications include Individualism in Social Science, What is Political Theory and Why Do We Need It?, The Promise of India’s Secular Democracy, Between Hope and Despair: 100 Ethical Reflections on Contemporary India and Reimagining Indian Secularism.
