Indian Languages Programme: Position for Research Associate

The Indian Languages Programme of Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), Delhi invites applications for the post of Research Associate for a two year project titled 'English in India: A Study of Power, Culture and Knowledge'. The programme is directed by Abhay Kumar Dubey, Professor at CSDS.

The qualifications and eligibility criteria for the position would be as follows:

•  Post Graduate in any subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 55 percent marks or its equivalent grade.
•  M.Phil or Ph.D with UGC-NET qualification.
•  Should be equipped with the capability of writing in Hindi as well as in English.
•  Should be conversant in the art of interviewing, transcription, editing and translation.
•  Besides attending office regularly, the research work may involve travelling out of Delhi and staying overnight for field work.

Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge about the theory of Linguistic Imperialism and related academic debates. The selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of an interview by a selection committee duly constituted under the ICSSR rules.
